Setting up ESX 4.1 on a Dell R610 with a MD3200 connected via SAS
This goes back a little bit, but thought I'd fill in the blanks.
The scope of the project was to virtualize, 7 servers to a single R610 host with a MD3200 SAS off the back! Along with replacing a Watchguard x700 with a Fortigate 111c (120GB Solid State drive!). Second stage is to provision a Dell PowerEdge R510 Windows 2008 R2 Host as a storage repository for Shadow Protect images and to allow VirtualBoot in the event of major chaos!
The project went well, no major issues. Completing the second stages now which is to make the NAS a vCenter host as well to monitor performance and hardware of the ESX host.
