OneAccess Modem Router - Factory Reset Password Recovery

We recently became a wholesaler of an ISP using OneAccess hardware presumably due to the price point and ability to provision on the fly using OneProvisio. I must admit I was skeptical at first however, have since come to realize the OS is very similar to Cisco IOS so the transition for me was relatively easy.

I bought a couple of second hand ONE20 OneAccess SHDSL modems off eBay to use for Ethernet routing only (not using SHDSL interface) and needed to factory reset to recover the password. This is where things change alot from Cisco. In order to Factory reset the OneAccess ONE20 modem I connected to the console of the device (using the custom RS232 cable, different cabling to the blue Cisco console cable). I then followed these steps:

1. Once connected to the console of the device using OneAccess console cable. Press <ESCAPE>, then <CTRL>+Y and finally <CTRL>+N.
2. You will be prompted whether you want to factory reset the device. Type 'Y' for yes.
3. You will then be asked if you would like to reboot the router. Type 'Y' for yes.
4.  After the factory reset you can no login via telnet using default IP on FastEthernet 0/0 on default IP 192.168.1.10
5. The default OneAccess username and password is admin/admin

UPDATE: Its been a while since I posted this, however just wanted to let everyone know the same technique worked on a One540 today and a One50

** Worth mentioning the console cable for a OneAccess device has a custom pin-out and your cannot use a Cisco console cable.

UPDATE: Thanks to Ben Rumble for pin-out of the serial cable (not standard wiring like a Cisco console cable)

        Pin 1 : TX / TXD
        Pin 2 : RX / RXD
        Pin 3 : GND

    1. sorry for the slow reply. Its likely the console port isnt disabled, but you might not be using a oneaccess pinned console cable. This is very different to a Cisco/Juniper/Fortinet console cable

    4. I created my own cable by sacrificing a cisco cable and just connecting the below.
      Pin 1 : TX / TXD
      Pin 2 : RX / RXD
      Pin 3 : GND
all others cables I just didn't crimp.

    1. Very sorry for the slow reply. I havent seen this before, though like Cisco there may be the ability to turn off the factory reset/password feature.

  5. Thanks, you've safed my One60
By the way if the One60 always reboots after loading the config file, it could be that the Requested 5V are not enaugh (5.5V not worked, using 6V works wit 950mA)

    1. provided the cable pin out is right for OneAccess you can use PuTTY; just make sure the right COM port is selected. Your OS may set it as COM1 or if you have other devices in Device Manager, it could be any number so best to check in device manager first.
